Maria is involved in many complex civil litigation cases and has gained great experience in litigating cases with corporate, cross border and foreign elements. She represents the interests of major local banks and she is involved in huge due diligence projects initiated by the banks. She also represents minority shareholders. She obtained the first ever order granted by Cypriot Courts for the investigation of the Company’s affairs by inspectors appointed by the Council of Ministers. She also represents parties in complex international commercial arbitration cases. Furthermore, she represents parties in the courts related to injunctions in aid of foreign arbitration proceedings, freezing orders, norwich pharmacal orders, anton piller orders and chambra orders. She has extensive experience in private international law, the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards as well as foreign insolvency proceedings
